Who is SwimMastery

SwimMastery is an international community with over 60 coach members and hundreds of swimmers around the world who pursue mastery in the science and art of swimming. Our aim is to improve our own and our swimmers’ relationship with the water by promoting the benefits of whole-body and safe swimming movements.

Our Methodology

Using the latest research in body mechanics, physics, and neuroscience we focus the swimmers’ attention on specific cues that allow the joints to move safely and effectively. As we synchronise connected body parts, we create whole body movements which allow access to larger muscle groups. This results in greater speed and efficiency.

Our Mission

We train coaches and work with swimmers all over the world, from a complete beginner to a seasoned marathon swimmer. Our goal is to share our SwimMastery technique and increase safe, efficient and fun swim experiences for all. .

Our Journey

2019

Tracey Baumann and Mathew Hudson meet in London and agree to partner and pursue their mutual dream to establish an organization focused upon meeting the holistic needs of mastery-oriented swim coaches and swimmers, through all stages of development, along their aquatic lifespan.

2020-2021

In January, SwimMastery is formally established as an LLC Partnership in Oregon USA.

SwimMastery conducts its first coach training courses in Spain and Switzerland, and acquires its first coach members.

The COVID pandemic shuts down most travel. SwimMastery shifts its community and training online. Rather than being stifled over the following months, the SwimMastery community actually grows and thrives.

By the end of 2020, SwimMastery had conducted 8 coach training courses with 40 participants, and completed Phase 1 of it's growth plan to build an initial community of committed coaches.

By the end of 2021, SwimMastery has conducted 9 coach training courses with 43 participants and made progress in Phase 2 of its growth plan to expand coach training opportunities and develop swim training materials. There are over 50 coach members in 11 countries around the world.

2022/2023

SwimMastery has conducted dozens of coach training courses, children learn to swim instructor programs, open water camps and also delivers virtual and “in person” coaching.

Tracey Baumann

“Swim mastery can help you harness the best you can from your body and transfer that into forward momentum in any body of water that you wish to swim in. “

Mat Hudson

"Swimming can and should be an activity that feels wonderful in your body, when it is moving as it is meant to. From there, the aquatic world opens up to you. When you swim this way, you'll want to swim for the rest of your life."
